Buda 11 #1 Posted June 22, 2013 Drive belt and starter/Gen Belt Guards Was looking around on ebay and there isnt a lot for the 855 are there any other tractors that used the same parts? Thanks Tom
Killer 2000 Chevy 83 #2 Posted June 22, 2013 Any of the short frame drive belt guards should work. The s/g guards are a little harder to find. Any of the 8 hp belt guards and possibly 7 hp should work. Someone else will chime in as well.
Buda 11 #3 Posted June 22, 2013 Being new at the Wheel Horse thing......I'm not even sure what models are the short frames
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,031 #4 Posted June 22, 2013 There is a way to see what models used the same parts but you have to read the parts lists to be sure. If the part number is in the list for that model it will come up. Parts lists are shared by similar models so often the same item will have more than 1 part number. Go to http://www.milacalawn.com/pages/OemParts Select Toro Consumser and enter the part number (855 belt guard is # 4993) Oops - they don't have the ipl for the 855 and 1055 any more and it is shared. It was there at one time because I recorded the following that used the 4993 guard. Save this because it works for most parts. They just don't have any parts lists with the 4993 part number in it any more. Drive belt guard 4993 has the model number decal indentation 704, 754, 854, 855, 706, 856. Early production 857 and 867 has model number decal indentation. Late production 857 and 867 has no model number decal indentation. 1968 Model 1-4831 Commando 8 has no model number decal indentation. WheelHorse79 271 #10 Posted June 29, 2013 Thanks, glad to help out a fellow member! That belt guard came off of my 854 and unfortunately had a slice taken out of it. I repaired it with JB Weld and some body filler. It looks o.k. and Buda can use it for a while until something better comes along.
