Any of the short frame drive belt guards should work. The s/g guards are a little harder to find. Any of the 8 hp belt guards and possibly 7 hp should work. Someone else will chime in as well.

There is a way to see what models used the same parts but you have to read the parts lists to be sure. If the part number is in the list for that model it will come up. Parts lists are shared by similar models so often the same item will have more than 1 part number. Go to

http://www.milacalawn.com/pages/OemParts

Select Toro Consumser and enter the part number (855 belt guard is # 4993) Oops - they don't have the ipl for the 855 and 1055 any more and it is shared. It was there at one time because I recorded the following that used the 4993 guard. Save this because it works for most parts. They just don't have any parts lists with the 4993 part number in it any more.

Drive belt guard 4993 has the model number decal indentation 704, 754, 854, 855, 706, 856.

Early production 857 and 867 has model number decal indentation.

Late production 857 and 867 has no model number decal indentation.

1968 Model 1-4831 Commando 8 has no model number decal indentation.

I have a belt guard off of my 854 that I replaced with a better one.  It should fit your 855 fine.  I will give it to you if you will pay the shipping.  Please PM me if interested.

Thanks, glad to help out a fellow member!  That belt guard came off of my 854 and unfortunately had a slice taken out of it.  I repaired it with JB Weld and some body filler.  It looks o.k. and Buda can use it for a while until something better comes along.
