tator84 1 #1 Posted June 19, 2013 I'm just throwing this out there so I can get info and thoughts. I have a RJ 59 and thought about making it a puller. Would this be way to much work or a good idea and why? Thanks in advance for your comments.
AMC RULES 37,130 #2 Posted June 19, 2013 Those little guys are getting hard to come by these days... maybe another model would make a better choice.
tator84 1 #3 Posted June 19, 2013 It's a idea. Never see them made into a puller. Kinda different. But I kinda agree.
Cheetah 14 #4 Posted June 21, 2013 Check with the organization you plan to pull with for their rules first. Some clubs gear the rules towards nothing but Cubs, so your WH belt drive may never have a chance.
Jim_M 178 #5 Posted June 21, 2013 I agree. I tried pulling Wheel Horse a few years ago, couldn't compete in our club. The best finish ever was 4th. I only build cubs to pull with now and only use wheel horses for everything else. One of the reasons you never see a RJ puller is that the transmissions won't take it, they're not that strong. It would be really hard to weight one correctly and you couldn't squeeze a big enough engine on it to pull in most clubs classes.
baerpath 517 #6 Posted June 26, 2013 I agree on not using a RJ or simulair But in stock classes a WH moree than holds it's own. Basically all the pullers are Cub or Wheel Horse in our club,
