meadowfield 2,570 #202 Posted October 12, 2014 had a good think on the wiring - as it's all from scratch - here's the first scribble of a diagram then back to the rear drive - things have had to change over time. Need space to tension a belt as the rear axle now has a lot of articulation. Here's the idlers in place, waiting for the pulleys to arrive. The string lets me see how much tension is created by the axle pivoting. (giving away my secrets) and finally the calculator giving me the sprocket and pulley sizes

chris sutton 610 #204 Posted October 13, 2014 Looks like you've sorted the idler problem Mark, nice work, well done
meadowfield 2,570 #205 Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks, nick and Chris... Idler kinda worked but broke during early testing today. A new fully adjustable arrangement is much better. Here's the outcome of getting the idler sorted.

meadowfield 2,570 #209 Posted November 9, 2014 Despite wanting to play, I have found time today to make some fenders from scrap pieces of Ian's 6x6... With a patch welded in Ground flat and e tanked Primed and in place

meadowfield 2,570 #211 Posted November 16, 2014 Been out most of the weekend, but managed to finish the handbrake. Pretty pleased with yet another reuse of a wheel horse part and it works perfectly Here it is off and on
Stigian 1,234 #212 Posted November 22, 2014 I like your handbrake thinking Mark, I might have to borrow your idea for "Why Not" if you don't mind
meadowfield 2,570 #213 Posted November 23, 2014 I like your handbrake thinking Mark, I might have to borrow your idea for "Why Not" if you don't mind Go for it! Here's yesterday's update! The posty brought gifts this week. A new seat, battery and some led running lights. In between showers managed to get a bit more done... Firstly mounting my new seat, a kab p2 which is the same as the original raider had. The seat holes and spring holes don't match so the base has two new brackets made up. Then some light brackets on the front fenders And with running light fitted View from the new seat Finally new pin for the handbrake turned down and a teeny bit cut out of the fender so the handbrake clears. And not forgetting finally getting some primer on the hood and seat base before a quick stick together pic.
meadowfield 2,570 #214 Posted December 6, 2014 Finally made a start on the wiring, here's the lower dash panel with my new gauges fitted. Apologies for he rubbish shot, number 2 son came in and stood in the light It's been a cold day here in the north, minus 4 first thing and it just passed zero degrees by lunch. So lots of cups of coffee were in order and using the kitchen island to put most of the first loom together And the first bit in place behind the tank and steering column. Next job is to make the panel fit and add the fuses and light circuits.
Stigian 1,234 #215 Posted December 7, 2014 Nice work Mark, the gauges look much better now the bezels are all black
meadowfield 2,570 #216 Posted December 14, 2014 Put the gauges back in this morning and went for a spin... Within 5 seconds the volt meter and rev counter stopped working the wires wrapped around the steering uj and ripped out of the back So lost an hour soldering them back in Finally hooked up the choke linkage, then started on this The battery isolator and fuse box panel. Cleaned up one of the rams kindly donated by Doug and tried it in place. The stroke is right but the overall length is too much for the space I have... So out with the grinder Got a new end cap and pivots to sort out next - that's the plate underneath in the pic. A quick drop into place and it should fit ok

meadowfield 2,570 #220 Posted January 24, 2015 Been a while.... Upper and lower dash panels in place. Using vinyl saves a lot of time painting and lettering, plus I can change the words Plus rear lift cylinder in place And started the front three point
meadowfield 2,570 #221 Posted January 31, 2015 Today's update... Beside the new headlight unit, I have braved the cold to just about finish the wiring. Which whilst it's my strongpoint, I get zero enjoyment from! Wired the lower dash panel and used a PC style connector so it's removable. Tested it.... It works! Plus I now have switch on and off able lights
