Rollerman 290 #1 Posted December 5, 2007 Seen this on one of the yahoo groups "wheelhorsegardentractorsonly" I beleive Dale moderates it? But I seen this posted today & thought I'd paste it here. Stephen in northern IN Hi all, I have received many inquires regarding my book, so I thought I would give you an update on the 2nd edition, Straight from the Horse's Mouth, The Wheel Horse Story. The new book is full color, as was the first edition, but it contains many, many more photos, and inserts along with a wealth of new text and information. The 2nd edition also comes with a CD that features Cecil Pond. The book is being produced in a limited quantity. I am hoping to have the book available by summer 2008. I am also working on a compendium of all the Wheel-Horse/American Motors documents. I will be setting up a web site for pre-orders on both items. I will hopefully have both books at next summer's Wheel-Horse Show in Pa. if still available. I will post the website as soon as possible. If anyone would like more information, feel free to contact me at whrj35@.... Merry Christmas, Mike Martino

CasualObserver 3,408 #6 Posted December 5, 2007 Don't be too hurt if you don't get a response. I've tried a few times in the past to contact him, and never get anything back. Rumor was a while back that he had gotten rid of all of his Wheel Horse stuff not too long after he did the book and got into JD stuff instead... then last year at Thanksgiving he came out of nowhere and said he was doing this second book and it would be ready by March... well, March came and went, and nobody knew anything and no one had heard from him. Now today... there's an update. Me... I'll just wait patiently for the website for pre-orders to be posted. :D

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #10 Posted December 6, 2007 Well he did emailed me back. Here's his response: Hi Terry, Thank you for your interest in my books. It is purely a labor of love. You will be able to get the books directly from me when available. I'll save your email and inform you when they are available. Thanks, Mike Martino Though I guess from what you're guys are telling me, I shouldn't hold my breath for the book. I just hope your wrong. But it sounds like you all have more insight or trepidation on this than I do.

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #12 Posted December 6, 2007 Yes, I did send him an invite. Who knows he may have been one of the guests that was online last night or this morning. Here's the email I sent him: Subject: Straight from the Horse's Mouth I saw your post on the Wheel Horse group and wanted to let you know I can't wait until the second edition comes out. If you know where I can purchase this book and the other project you're working on concerning WH and AMC, please let me know. Thanks. BTW, we started a Wheel Horse only site that's a little easier to navigate than the Yahoo Groups. Feel free to drop in anytime, and register if you like. It's at this address: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php? I also made a Wheel Horse 2008 calendar that you can download (it's in pdf format) on that site. Here's the link for it: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=219 See I put in plug for this site wherever I go. :D

Curmudgeon 28 #14 Posted December 7, 2007 Yeah, I'm co-owner/founder of the aforementioned yahoo group. I've also been working too many hours, both for pay and on these danged floors. The floors are done except for one closet. Hopefully, work will slow down too, though those extra hours is what's going to allow me to play next summer! Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I was several days behind in reading the postings on WheelHorseGardenTractorsOnly, and when I got to Mike's post, I also emailed him. Waiting for a response now.
