1974-B-80 52 #1 Posted May 27, 2013 M H60 that goes on the 604 was painted red by the last owner but I sanded it down today and its all white. What does that mean? Could it be from a snowblower or a rototiller?
AMC RULES 37,127 #2 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) Could be too, an HH-60 replacement block. Edited May 27, 2013 by amcrules00
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #3 Posted May 27, 2013 Most of the replacement tecumseh short block engines i've seen have come painted black or white. But it could be a transplant from something else. The factory tecumseh short blocks came with a small metal tag affixed to the output side of the engine.
1974-B-80 52 #4 Posted May 27, 2013 Ok we'll my engine has the small tag. It says SBH-1690 and the serial number is 8160F So does the SBH mean (short block horizontal)? Then it has numbers on the block. 19-0-67. Does that mean its a 1967?
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #5 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) My Best guess is yes, SBH would stand for short block horizontal crankshaft. I have three H60 short blocks in my garage. And other than the "SBH" letters stamped on the tag, the numbers on mine don't appear to have anything that I can tell as far as a year or anything.
