Jeff-C175 7,199 #1 Posted May 26, 2013 I REALLY need a new seat for my machine. Northern Tool has a couple A&I brand that look like the bolt pattern is correct. My 175 has 7.5" W X 7" D bolt pattern. Has anyone used either the low or mid back seats from A&I ? Any good? Fit with no trouble? etc... http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_a-i
rmaynard 15,383 #2 Posted May 26, 2013 I use the Michigan Seat V-3500 from Northern. It is identical to the original Wheel Horse seat but without the logo. Bolt pattern is correct. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_7687_7687
Lane Ranger 10,936 #3 Posted May 26, 2013 Same as Bob Maynard says here and they are a well made seat!
squonk 40,913 #4 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) I like the Super Whoopie seats instead of the std. replacement seat if it's a worker. If I'm planting my kiester on something that's going to shake rattle and roll all summer I want it comfy. I tried a cheaper seat once and boy was I miserable. (OK more miserable than I all ready am.) If it doesn't bolt on I make a plate or bracket so it does. I like the adjustable models so your not sitting on the steering wheel and I use seat springs to get them off of the fender pan. rmaynard 15,383 #5 Posted May 26, 2013 I 2nd that Mike. Most of mine are show queens, but the next seat I buy for the worker is going to have some comfort built (as well as a cup holder). :)
squonk 40,913 #6 Posted May 26, 2013 I'm looking for one that has a doughnut holder. Might have to build it myself!
papaglide 542 #7 Posted May 26, 2013 Mike, I agree. Where did you get that seat from? Did you have to modify it at all? My 416 is begging for a at with armrests!
squonk 40,913 #8 Posted May 26, 2013 I got it at TSC about 3 years ago. If I remember right it bolted right on. The tractor all ready had springs on the fender pan.
varosd 1,185 #9 Posted May 26, 2013 Mike: Hmmmmm, Where is the left arm rest? Is that your bail out side????!!!??? I also like your rottenecard: reminds me of a button a friend of mine had back in the 80"s: "you don't love me anymore since I ate your dog"
Jeff-C175 7,199 #10 Posted May 26, 2013 Thanks guys, I ordered the 3500 ... Maybe I can cut the logo out of the original seat and glue it onto the new one!

I also like your rottenecard: reminds me of a button a friend of mine had back in the 80"s: "you don't love me anymore since I ate your dog" The left armrest is there. You might not be able to see it because I have been having trouble with the switch for the cloaking device on the tractor. Darn Romulans! They sell the cheapest crap! 546cowboy 301 #12 Posted May 27, 2013 Seems like every one I get needs a new seat. I have been getting mine from a local farm store and the cover is made out of some kind of rubber? that will last forever without cracking or splitting. I like the higher backed seats but the last few times I've been there they only have the low backs and at $49.95 well worth it. Here is a picture of one on a 1848 I sold this year. Same seat I've been using. Pick 'em up at Tractor Supply, on sale currently. Bolt patterns, many. Jeff-C175 7,199 #14 Posted May 31, 2013 UPS delivered new seat today. She's looking good! Back not quite as high as the original, but that don't bother me none. I know I owe you guys some pics... camera is charging. There a couple pics in Gallery "1980 C-175 " anyone wants to see seat installed.
