308-8 runs good and pullys and belts all spin but will not move.

my brother gave his old tractor when i was over helping him cut his grass it was driving along cutting just fine then when he stopped and went in rev. then back to drive it wouldnt go. but the belts and pullys all seem to be spinning also the shaft going into the tranny is spinning so its not the keyway.

if i remeber right it did. i was wonding if maybe it was low on fluids or some thing. i just had brain surgery and cant get under it to check to see what tranny it has or anything.

well since it's an 8-spped I would check to see if the high/low lever got bumped while shifting...Then check the hubs to be sure they ae tight on the axles and you don't have an axle key sheared...

First...Welcome to Red Square.    Mike and Paul are right...check the hi/low shifter...it is not a matter of fluid in the trans...it could be the key ways in the hubs also.  Put the horse on blocks and in gear and see if you can spin the tires and the axle does not move...a felt tip pen can mark a spot on the axle and the hub to let you know.
