C141 8 speed refresh

Recommended Posts

Tom.

Hi all,

Some of you may have seen me make a few posts about my C141 already, if not I'm Tom, I'm from the UK and I'm 15!

I bought my this wheel horse a while ago now, at the time I didn't know too much about it. It came up on a well known auction site advertised as a non-runner but had been running the previous year. it even included all of the original manuals! I rang him up and asked him some questions about it and ended up agreeing to buy it for £200!

The day after I hauled it home I put in some fresh fuel, tinkered a little and she burst into life! Great news I thought but then it started to bellow out blue smoke. I changed the oil which helped but didn't eradicate the smoke. I figured it needed new piston rings, and just a general going through and checking because it never ran as good as I wanted it to. I am going to go through the engine and just generally clean the tractor, fix anything I need to and make sure it's all working fine. I won't be painting as it's in good original condition plus it will be a worker.

I have now finally got round to getting the engine off and have started to tear it apart. I haven't got much apart yet as I'm taking my time in making sure I know where things go! It is a big learning curve for me and my dad so I'm sure I will be asking loads of questions on here. I have attached some pictures of the progress, I hope they work!

Any help, tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Tom
