875 vs 1075 have the same frame / hood?

In looking at my 875 model, I cannot see how a big block 10 HP would fit in that small space.  But the book shows 875/1075 on the front cover.  What was different to accomodate the big block.

My 875 is a very awsome unit, but it is way underpowered.

The few short frame tractors that used a 10 hp engine, used an engine with a special oil pan.

Dont seem to be able to find a pic right now

the k241 is a small base engine with a low height oil pan to be able to fit the engine under the hood......

the small base engine doesnt have the 'ears' that the larger oil pan bolts to.  a special short dipper connecting rod is needed as well. there are other differences too, but these are the main 'engine' ones........

normal wheel horse spec pan on a large base engine on the left and a low height pan next to it.

Thanks,  looks super rare then.....

Looks like a regular one won;t work.  Oh well.

I wonder if it is a special dipper, or if it can just be ground down a bit.

If you have a shallow pan and one of the c series isolator engines (or any small base kohler big block k for that matter) you could put one together. I have read on here that members have cut down the dipper to fit the shallow pan before. I don't think it would be too difficult to measure the length.......

Just remember measure twice, cut once. Cut it too short and you will have no 'splash'

I got the shallow pan to do one myself, just too many other projects on the go........
