416 kohler running bad

I have a 416 with a Kohler 16 Hp it will run good at low idle and good to  3/4 speed then will start to boog down choke will not help. it will start sputting gas out the carb at higher Rpm  I have changed gas and fuel line filter plug removed carb and soked in pail of cleaner run air in all pasages all clear still spitting gas out carb.removed head and cleaned carbon and removed valves and lapped them all ok no worped valve carb adjustments make no diffrence  lean or rich it has 2 adjustment screws what am I missing

See post above, there is a reason and sequence for trouble shooting

 

 

What you are describing with the way it bogs and spits gas at full throttle tells me the exhaust is plugged

Got to work on it some today removed mufler and it is running very well maybe the best that it has ever ran

 

Can you burn out the mufler like 2 cycle over camp fire I will try it and post back if it dont work what is the best place to get new one???

Before you do anything too drastic, check the muffler carefully for anything that might be plugging it up.  I once had a mud dauber nest inside the muffler of a 2-cycle tiller engine, wouldn't run for more than a minute or so before it would die.  Poked out the nest with a paper clip, and it ran like new again.

If you dont mind the looks and a little more noise just put the salt shaker type on it and run.
