Pressure Washer Sand Blaster Kit

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone has tried one of these. I just don't have the room, the money or other needs for a large compressor to run a normal blaster so I thought this would work out better. It just connects to the pressure washer to add abrassive to the stream plus it will be much less dusty.

Speaking as one who has 14 years experience in the commercial pressure washer business, I have had very good results with the siphon blaster.

You can use different types of media, and your right about the dust, however it will leave a mess wherever your working, so be aware of that.

The only problem I have had with this system is that the feed rate is very touchy, so it’s prone to clogging up. Also you have to make sure your media is very dry, if it’s be exposed to high humidity it will be a nightmare to deal with.

Better systems use a pressurized pot to feed the media to the mixing venturi, and is less prone to clogging.

Thanks Joe, that's exactly the type of info I was looking for. Do you think adding a ball valve to the siphon tube would help control the media flow or just give it another place to clog?

I'll give this cheapy a try and see how it works out. Most of the reviews seem favorable.  As for the mess, I'll have a pressure washer handy to wash it away.

If you have a small pressure pot sand blaster do you think this could be coupled to it and sort of turbo charge it?

Adding a ball valve to the siphon tube would help control the media flow, the better units come with one on it.

I used that exact one to blast my parents brick house. What I always thought was a get brick turned out to be yellow and white. Anyway I strapped a large garbage can to a dolly and installed a 1/2" brass threaded hose barb at the bottom. I drilled a small hole in it and inserted a 2 foot piece of brake line that I bent into question mark so nothing could get in it. The tube helped with siphon action. Then I filled the can with sand. The large amount of sand helped with the siphon action also because I would go through a 50 lb. Bag of sand in just a few minutes. With this set up I would need to refuel before I ran out of media.
