Kevbo 80 #3 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) I am highly interested in this topic as I have a 212-H that I rely on because of its low profile to the ground. The reason being is because I need it to mow an extremely front bank that I have in front of my house. The hydro has been going strong since it has been purchased and even has survived a couple tumbles! I would like to replace the hydro oil with Mobil 1. Is this possible on this hydro? Is there a filter? rhal what is wrong with your 212-H? Here is mine: Edited April 24, 2013 by Kevbo
rhal 0 #4 Posted April 25, 2013 actually I dont have one but there is one near me at a very low price and I am wondering if it could be fixed without breaking the bank. the ad just says bad hydro, tractor looks good and deck also looks good. Bob
Kevbo 80 #5 Posted April 25, 2013 Interesting! I am curious to see if they can be serviced or repaired? Someday, I am sure I am going to have to repair mine due to the harsh conditions it works under!
squonk 41,365 #6 Posted April 25, 2013 No filter. I don't think they are serviceable except at a specialty shop. I had a 210-H for 20 years that worked great. I know where there is another used trans on a 210.. Don't know it's condition though and if it's the same as a 212.
Kevbo 80 #7 Posted April 25, 2013 Is there a way to drain and replace the oil?
squonk 41,365 #8 Posted April 25, 2013 I remember from my 210 manual there was no service interval for the hydro.
SousaKerry 502 #9 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) If you give us the long model number and serial off the tag we can look up which transmission it used. I would guess it is a peerless but it can be others based on year. It may be possible to perform a transplant from another brand of mower that has a similar transmission.
