oil job to slow rust

i picked up a 753 a while ago. the hood has a lot of surface rust on it. i was wondering if spraying it with some sort of oil would slow the rust. what oil or spray should i use. thank you very much

If you ever plan on repainting the hood, I would say not to do it. If you are looking to keep the weathered look then it seems to work.

Wipe some boiled linseed oil on there! You'll be amazed.
