stevasaurus 22,869 #2 Posted April 14, 2013 If you think the trans is OK and not full of sludge...this works, but understand, flushing is no substitute for actually cleaning it out. Drain oil from transmission. Jack up rear end of tractor (better if tractor is level)...put in about 2 qts of diesel fuel. Run tractor in all gears for about 5 minutes in each gear. drain diesel and see what it looks like. Repeat process if you think it needs it...I would do at least twice. Fill to the correct level with the correct oil for your trans. I would run it all summer and then drain and refill in the fall...remember...you won't get all the diesel out and what is left will mix with the oil. You can use kerosene instead of diesel...both work equally well. I think diesel is cheaper.
