Wishin4a416 2,191 #1 Posted April 13, 2013 What is the easiest way to remove the brake and drive shaft seals. I see the axle seals are plastic and there is more room there to pick them out but the other 2 are tight on space and metal. And does the shift handle need to be removed to split the case? Thanks
rmaynard 15,610 #2 Posted April 13, 2013 I remove those seal the same way as I remove the axle seals, with a dental pick. The shifter handle should be removed first just for ease of work. It's done easily by backing out the set screw, so why leave it in?

I wanted to drill it and then use the easy out to remove but no luck there.
stevasaurus 22,872 #4 Posted April 13, 2013 You have to remove the shifter to separate the tranny. The shifter is mounted in the right half and the forks are mounted in the left.
