Steve in Mo 3 #1 Posted April 13, 2013 Been a while since I have been here but once again I need some help. I am rebuilding the carb on my 10 HP Kohler. Engine is a K241AS ser# 46766d. Is there a float setting and most important how do I accomplish it. The new float is plastic not brass like the old one hope it works OK. As always thanks for the help!!! Anglo Traction 761 #2 Posted April 13, 2013 Ok Steve, I'll go first. If your new Float is identical in size to the Brass original, then you invert the Carb so the Float is on top. Measure the gap between the Carb Body and the horizonal Float. Should be 11/64" give or take. If not, adjust the Valve Tab accordingly. With the Carb rotated to normal orientation, measure the distance between the bottom edge of the Float and the Carb Body Bowl Rim. It should be 1. 1/32". If not adjust the Rear Tab on the Float....and your done.
wallfish 17,485 #3 Posted April 14, 2013 Just to add to Richards information, there is a small brass tab you bend to make adjustments. Pg 6-9 from the manual
Buckshot 1 15 #4 Posted April 14, 2013 Most of the plastic floats I have worked with, did not have and adjustment tab. Of corase they could have re -designed then with a metal tab?
