wheels for 73 GT 14

Recommended Posts

Looking for a source for either oem ,oem knock offs Or maybe custom wheels.

The originals were filled with calcium chloride & are rusting badly ,sand blasted & redid once

& yes the CC was removed.

Seems the fronts are the hardest to locate ,as I could find the rears (I did not fully check the fit tho)

I see the pullers have some really sweet wheels

Been looking for hubcaps for years .Never found any the 8" & 15" sizes

thanks

well 15" is a standard car wheel so you could go to any junk yard and get some. of course, find the right 4 bolt pattern may be the part part. I too have been looking for a set of rear wheels for my 1054 and think i may go that route and either find the right bolt pattern, make a hub adapter, or just use 5 bolt hubs from another model.

I think 8" fronts are standard for a lot of the later model wheel horse tractor? but don't quote me on that

I didn't think later WH had the automotive style wheel bearing.

I ask at a WH /Toro dealer if fronts were availble a few years back they said no fronts but yes to rears

Figured they would be able cross reference these if they were used on later models .

Thinking cut center out of old front & weld into new wheel

Where are those fancy puller wheels coming from?

Here is an option for your front wheels. I just did this on my 1054. These are standard trailer wheels so they should be pretty cheap i would think. Plus i like the idea of hubs anyway. I built my hubs but I'm pretty sure you can buy hubs online.

thanks ,with all the pics I get the idea to fab an internal hub that was intergrated  into the wheel before. Maybe I'll go to dexter axle & see if they got something all ready fabed up not too far from me & good prices .

I now understand what you mean THANKS

hey thanks ,Refracman & red square group ,got some new to me wheels they need some work but they will live  again.

now does any one really know if WH made 15'' hub caps & where do they fit as in like car hub caps that fit all the way to the edge of the rim or are they smaller and fit deeper in like a dog dish hub cap .This also goes for the front wheels.

you see when I refinish the wheels if I can get correct hubcaps I'm going red ,no hubcaps then oem color

It all matters as to what I can find as to how far I go .

wish I could post pics but Red square does't like my pics ( to large I guess)

Hello and welcome. I have never seen hubcaps for the rear of a GT14 or remember seeing any on the parts list for a 69', but that's not to say that there wasn't any. Good Luck

ok I got factory correct info on hub caps on gt14 NO SUCH THING. sorry guys I already had that info . I have factory original documents just needed to dig em out . NOW for the next dumb question ,I see other hub caps on other WH wheels 8" & 15" ???? Anybody know is this a lost cause lookin' for these sizes??? Maybe even if wheel size is right & those sizes exist do to differences in the wheels make it impossiable ???

sad thing is few years back had connections for free chrome plateing ,alas those days are gone along with most good jobs

cheers all
