Wheel Horse Tractors Storage Problems..

Well im sure we all run into this problem when we collect too many tractors. Does anybody have any cool pictures in how they store there tractors or have any good ideas for storage? So far i bought the Home Depot orange pallet racking three bays of 8 feet long with shelves and im going to stack them on the shelves. I will have pictures posted in about a month. So if anybody has any cool pictures in how they store there tractors share them...Thanks

we use pallet racking in our barn. Dealt with them all on the ground for a month and just couldnt take it!!! Here's the link to when we put it up.

It is a huge problem.  I have tactors stored at 4 different properties.  After I used up all my indoor or under cover storage, I built a 4X8 pressure treated storage module for my prize C-175 and I tarp the others.

 

The storage module cost more than I expected but works fine.  It is painted now but here is a picture before it was painted.  I buy the heavy duty tarps from Walmart's and use bungee cords to secure them.

 

The storage module has a drop down ramp on the front and the entire box will hinge off the deck if I need it to.  The first picture shows the drop down ramp in the front and the second pictures shows the hinges on the back to allow me to raise the entire box off the deck if that is needed.

it is a very big problem i keep hope'n to win the lottery and build a 50x100 pole barn and i doubt that would be big enough and you have to play the lottery to win lol. mean while i try to keep the heard thin down and if i buy one that means one other one has to go. i got some rubber roofing and cut tarps to size needed to cover the unfortunate ones that have to stay out side. i am trying to to raise capital to buy a 8.5x 24 enclosed trailer to use for storage and to haul to shows kill 2 birds with one stone sort of plus my neighbors don't like all my tractors sitting around till i do something for them hahaha

Honestly its not a great arrangement, I havent touched the tractors on the top shelf since I put them up there (probably 3 years now).

I have an old truck body box out back painted to match my house colors. The old ones can be bought much cheaper than it takes to build a shed with a garage door.

Here is the first shelf unit me and the kids built in the pole shed

 

It filled up pretty fast as you can see....I have been selling a few tractors so the 657 and 753 have been replaced with different horses.

 

This was the second shelf me and the kids built

 

I have been selling some horses so it is a little empty today.  The shed needs a major spring cleaning.

 

A few stripped down tractors live outside, 2 are in the workshop slowly getting completed, and 3 more are in the attached garage so they are getting stored about everywhere I can find room.

 

Here is the shop before I started finding better places for the horses...the pair of D200 tractors sure do take up a lot more space than the little RJ

That's the trouble with stacking. Once they are up there you don't want to bother with them. Where's the fun in that?

I'm beginning to have a storage problem but its not out of control yet. I like what you guys are doing with building the racks. The upper sections would also be a good place to store attachments. Just getting a snow blade, extra mowing deck, and trailer off the floor is a real space saver.

Here is a nice double storage rack I built to fit in a tight spot in my garage. It was the first big welding project I ever did and it turned out to be a perfect fit! So now I can weld and I am that much more dangerous in the shop!

Here's another shelf I built for WH storage in my buddies barn. I've got a 1962 Lawn Ranger up there, a 1963 Lawn Ranger, and a 1965 Lawn Ranger. Underneath I have a 1963 Springfield Suburban and I parked a 1963 Model # 953 in there after this pic was taken and a 1964 Model 1054.

I too had a loft in my garage that I could fit three on top and three on the bottom. I've since redesigned the garage and only keep three in it now. The others and all new and parts tractors reside here in the cold locker.  20' x 12' x 12'
