I wonder if Stormin over in Cumbria has had some of it as well. According to the Long Range 'Farmers and Growers', it's in for another week of -3c , bitingly cold Easterly winds and a risk of Snow over Easter . I'm getting sick of the weather, down here a freezing cold wind from the NE for three weeks started to dry everything up, then a week of downpours turned the fields into bog again, and now were' back to freezing cold again. I was outside working in shorts this time last year! It's a case of damned if you do or don't with the plow. Left mine on and there have been odd flurries even the odd heavy fall but nothing that's settled despite the temperatures e.g. a high of -1C (30F) during the day today. Climate change? Oh yeah, that was the reason given that we all had to have water meters installed this year in my region (not enough rain, don't you know). Seems we have been in a corridor of little snow between heavy falls. Never had any chance of useing the plough I built. If I build a boat, do you think it won't rain. wheeledhorseman 574 #11 Posted March 31, 2013 I'm old enough to remember that winter - even living on the edge of London the snow was awesome and hung around for ages. By the time it did begin to melt the snow on our roof had become compacted into an 8" thick carpet that began to slide down the tiles producing 2 - 3 foot of the carpet overhanging from the gutters. Large sections would finally give way under their own weight and fall to the ground with a dull thud. It became obvious why people with conservatories had wire mesh guards fixed above the gutters on their house. These days loads more people have conservatories yet its rare to see the guards.
