Picked up a nice used TSC 22 ton log splitter

I came across this unit on cl here in my home town. I figured that I would be at the bottom of a list of people in line to buy it based on the asking price. I called and the guy said he had other people interested and one guy was gonna call him after work before he came to look at it but said to the seller to sell it if he had a buyer before hand. Anyhow... it is a 3 year old Huskee 22 ton splitter sold at tsc. It saw limited use as the guy I bought it from had a very fast processing splitter and got this one as a back up I guess. The tire was flat and the carb needed to be cleaned. I had to repair the torn carb gasket so the primer would work. It is a really nice unit and I am happy with the purchase.

I have the 26 ton TSC splitter. It looks almost exactly like that one. I've had it for about 7 years now and I've never found anything it wouldn't split. I went there to buy the 22 ton but they had just sold the last one so I talked them into selling me the 26 ton for the same price. To be honest, once you get to 20 tons there's not much you can't split.

I must have been on the long list of stiffs that couldn't get there until after work. I'm not really the jealous type, I'm happy Steve got it, I know if I ever need it the offer to borrow it is always there. Steve is a great saleman, I'm surprised he wasn't able to talk the guy into paying him to take it of his hands. :ychain:

I do currently have a splitter but its a real big sucker. 10 hp Kohler on it and I believe it to be a 34 ton. It is my brothers and it could disappear at a moments notice. I have at least ten cords of Red Oak on hand that I have already split. I have been keeping my eye out for a big sale at TSC on a new Huskee 22, they are currently 1000 bucks. Charles sent me a link the other day for the DR splitters. I might buy a DR dual action splitter instead (its splits both ways) as its much faster and easier to get into the woods with it. Being that wood will be my main source of heat anything that can make my life easier is a big plus.

Looks like it will do the job. That is a good price too. A husky splitter was at the last auction I went to. It didn't even have an engine on it and it sold for $375. I was in the bidding up to $100 and was vastly out bid rather quickly. I was trying to get it because I have an 8hp tecky that needs a home. Good luck with it.
