richmondred01 2,237 #1 Posted March 2, 2013 I have a 416 with every wire disconnected and every safety is switch gone. This includes the hour gauge and amp meter that are disconnected. I want to just get the engine running. The wiring on the engine is all there which leads out to the wiring harness connector.. Does anyone know how to start one of the performer Onans with just the engine wires? If so how? A diagram would be real nice. Thanks
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted March 2, 2013 Providing the battery is in the tractor and the cables are still intact, you'll need 12VDC to the positive terminal on the ignition coil, and a momentary 12VDC jumper wire to the small terminal on the starter solenoid to get it to turn over. richmondred01 2,237 #3 Posted March 2, 2013 Will the low oil switch or heat sensor effect it starting?
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #4 Posted March 2, 2013 I don't know of either being on a 416, but everything is bypassed when power is applied directly to the ignition coil.
