fourwheels0 191 #1 Posted February 27, 2013 i'm not too familiar with these older horses. i have a 1969 charger 12 hydro. it runs great with no smoke or noises, deck is quiet but it has a real axle seal that leaks. what should i ask when selling this. KC9KAS 4,741 #2 Posted February 27, 2013 The tiller in the background go with it? Tractor with mowing deck (depending on area) I would say.....$250--$300.....Add the tiller and probably $400--$450. This is just my unbiased thought.
fourwheels0 191 #3 Posted February 27, 2013 ok thanks. so i was not far off. i was thinking $300 or so. nope the tiller is for sale separately. i have another tractor and deck that needs to go also. it's time to clean house. i just don't care for this style tractors. i prefer the 73-77 model c-series. wingrider 21 #4 Posted February 27, 2013 Wish I was closer I have been looking for a 12 horse with hydro&lift. It is also right in my favorite era mid 60s to mid 70s. Good luck on getting it sold, I'm sure it won't be around for long. Wingrider
can whlvr 993 #5 Posted February 28, 2013 it really depends on where you live, you couldnt find a horse like that for 400,up here they ask 400 for a similar tractor like that with no deck, not to get anyone mad at me,if you are in a horse freindly area you will get less,if theres not many like here you get a little more, nice lookin tractor by the way

Kevbo 80 #7 Posted February 28, 2013 it really depends on where you live, you couldnt find a horse like that for 400,up here they ask 400 for a similar tractor like that with no deck, not to get anyone mad at me,if you are in a horse freindly area you will get less,if theres not many like here you get a little more, nice lookin tractor by the way I agree, here in Southeastern PA the area is littered with old dealers and owners. A horse like that I would try for $200 but that is if I was the buyer...now if I was selling that I would start at $450 and take $300 at the lowest. That tiller in the background is going for $400 at a local dealer and $450 on craigslist! They are so expensive...someday soon I hope to own one when the price is right
546cowboy 301 #8 Posted February 28, 2013 You know every time one of these questions comes up I have to just say to myself "boy I wish I lived where you people do". It's a rare occasion around here to find a Wheel Horse in that condition for less than $500. I have to pay $300 to $400 for a non-running tractor with a blown engine here. You guys just really are lucky.
fourwheels0 191 #9 Posted February 28, 2013 ya it really is a matter of where you live and supply and demand. around here in virginia prices can go all over the place but for the most part buyers are very cheap here. i've had a hard time selling a good running 520h with a good 48 inch deck for $500 before. then i sold a single stage blower for $350 with no questions asked. it's a good thing i do this for fun and not trying to make a living at it.
