Kevbo 80 #1 Posted February 17, 2013 Good evening everyone! I just wanted to give you guys and update on my last pick. This is the 1075 that I picked up at a local high school last weekend from a tech ed teacher: Thanks to you guys , the forum identified this as a 1075, and I have done a little bit of work cleaning it up this weekend! I replaced the generator belt, transmission filter, and thanks to the recommendations from the forum, I put 4 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF into the hydro. I still need to get a new drive belt due to the amount of slack, but she is coming along! I gave the tractor a good powerwashing and degreasing and replaced the fuel lines to find that the engine block looks to be painted brown? Anyone ever see that before? I got an order into Kelly for a couple missing parts like the drive belt cover. I finally took off that ugly Sears Plow bracket and used some 0000 steel wool and some WD-40 to smooth out and brighten up the paint a little. This little tracor sure has impressed me...it starts right up without hesitation! At some point I would like to find a deck for it, and one day the whole tractor will undergo a full restoration. Until then, here she is! New filter!! I hope this helps keep this tranny running strong Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

855ownerJoel 32 #3 Posted February 17, 2013 I didn't know they had clear fuel line. I always got the black fuel hose.
Kevbo 80 #4 Posted February 17, 2013 I didn't know they had clear fuel line. I always got the black fuel hose. My father-in-law's friend repairs tractors for a living and he uses the clear tubing. It is very helpful to see if your fuel pump is working You can purchase it at tractor supply: http://www.tractorsupply.com/ldr-1-4-in-clear-pvc-tube-10-ft--3150676

JackC 617 #6 Posted February 17, 2013 You have a nice piece of Wheel Horse history there. "In 1965, Wheel Horse was among the first to introduce tractors with a hydrostatic drive system, the model 875 and 1075 "Wheel-a-Matics". I have an 876. Looks excellent. Is it correct to refer to those as the "wedge hoods"?
Rock farmer 41 #7 Posted February 17, 2013 Wow! That cleaned up real nice! Someone may have painted the engine with rustolium rusty metal primer. I have a 1276, I I love it! Joe
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #8 Posted February 17, 2013 Is it correct to refer to those as the "wedge hoods"? Square hoods are what I've called them / heard them called for years.
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #9 Posted February 17, 2013 Looks great now Kevin! My first thoughts now that you have it clean and shining and running good is it needs a (shorty) Mini-Stack muffler. Rain cap flapper would be optional.

Wheel-N-It 2,968 #11 Posted February 17, 2013 Kevin the picture is in my head right now. It does seem though like not too long ago someone did post a pic of a shorty style stack on their wheel horse. I'll look around to see if I can find it.
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #12 Posted February 17, 2013 kevin, hows this? Just cut your pipe to length and install the flapper.
KC9KAS 4,741 #13 Posted February 18, 2013 Nice looking GT! I too was thinking that maybe someone had the engine out and painted it and that was the primer.
