We had a Snow Blizzard In Louisiana

Recommended Posts

Yeaup, we had snow in Louisiana........afew years back, 2010 in far NE La. As rare as WH is down here didn't find one cotten pickin' track. Next time I'm puttin' out hey, hey it's over here and maybe I'll catch a bigun. It was so cold the roadway shivered off all the snow.Seriously once years back, 1983 the Red River froze over, and gossip states it was a once in 100 yr, (1895) occurrence, even though only 88 passed. Guess what...no pictures of that historical event.

If I am not mistaken, it snowed in 49 of the 50 states that winter. I miss those years. Nice pictures...thanks for sharing. :)

I was stationed at Ft Polk from 86-89 and it snowed every winter. In 86 it was supposed to be the first time in 15 years, I think they were just honoring a yankee! :ychain:

Now mind you, this was back in 2010 I think and wife wanted pics of whatever that white stuff was/is, and I must give her credit for them. Snow is a real rarity here, thank goodness!

It wasn't much, a couple inches, but they shut down the state. We were in the field and recalled due to weather! The Army with everything 4x4 or 6x6, and we get called in because of a few inches of snow. Coming from Michigan, I thought these people were sissies! We don't even worry about it until there's a foot on the ground.

Man you got it right, I grew up in mostly snow belt type areas and scoff every time they let school out early, shut down roads, and almost do work stoppage with the slightest bit of ground cover. Not to be real negative about folks down here but it sounds like war on the scanners with all the wrecks and mishaps during a simple rain. Not to scold the younger generation but some people just will not slow down and think tailgateing only pertains to football or Nascar parking lot BBQ. And you know THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY, stay warm and safe. 'course that gooes for all, no mater branch, year, station, and all in Nemo's grasp>

No, thank you Sir for your service. As a member of an armed force, we will always be a member and look upon our brothers in other services with pride. All of us have been there and done that.
