Indy443 30 #1 Posted February 4, 2013 Hi Folks, I've been on the lookout for a snow cab and one came up on Craigslist that I just saw. It says the cab is made for 260 Series Tractors and is model 79911. Will this model fit my 312-8? Thanks-

Indy443 30 #3 Posted February 5, 2013 Not without serious modification... Thanks for replying. Can you elaborate on what kind of modifications it would take to make it work? Or is is simply too much and I should look for a different one?
cheesegrader 433 #4 Posted February 5, 2013 You are looking for model 79943. They come up for sale from time to time. Not rare, by any means. The entire cab mounts to the tractor with only 8 bolts, and is a tight fit. Modifying another model seems like it would be a huge amount of work, with an ugly result. I would look for the model designed for your tractor.
Shuboxlover 476 #5 Posted February 5, 2013 You SHOULD be able to find a decent one for around $300....more if it REALLY nice....But they are worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MalMac 1,331 #6 Posted February 5, 2013 You will be way more happy with getting the cab that belongs on your tractor. In the worst case you can't find a good used one PM me maybe I can help you out. I sell The Original Cab, They are still very expensive new but I can get you a little better price. I would try and find a used one first.
Indy443 30 #7 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi guys, I have been exchanging a few emails with a guy who had originally listed the cab on CL. I said I was looking for the cab that was intended for the 312-8. He said he had another cab that he was using on his GT-14. He'd made some adjustments to the cab to fit that tractor. Anyway, he sent me some photos of the cab, and I'm wondering if you think this would work on the 312. I have no experience with a snow cab so I do not know how they mount, or whether it's worthwhile to make one fit regardless. Will the brackets he has on the cab to fit his tractor bolt right up to the floorboards of the 312? It's also not a Wheel Horse cab, so I can't cross reference a model number to see if it will fit my tractor. Thanks for taking a look-
Kelly 1,029 #8 Posted February 8, 2013 I Think the first cab would be a closer fit, in fact it should not be to far of from being a good fit, they have very close body styles/
cheesegrader 433 #9 Posted February 10, 2013 The White cab looks like it will be short in the back. The mounts to the footrests also look a little short, but that could be fixed. The big problem is going to be getting over/to your gas tank. The 300/400/500 series cab hangs over the rear fender by a few inches to cover this area. THe canopy supports angle back in at 45 degrees beneath the seat to make it back to the mounts bolted under the seat. This makes it easier to get to the tank and refuel. Modifying a shorter cab might make getting to the tank difficult.

c-series don 8,529 #12 Posted February 7 I’d say if it’s the correct one and in good condition, even if it’s a little pricey I’d get. In the long run you will be happy.
