GT 14 8SPEED

Recommended Posts

Big Jake

Today I put a 8speed in my GT14. I need to put a hydraulic pump on it. I got one off of a Case 222 Can I put a pulley on it and run a belt. I herd they will not take side pressure from a belt???? thanks Jake

I don't know what kind of pump you have but my Power King came with a belt driven pump and the aftermarket pump I have on it now to run the loader is belt driven.

There are a lot of belt driven pumps out there. How was the pump that you have driven on the Case?

The Case pumps bolt to a mount on the PTO end of the block and are run with a love joy connector straight off the crank, not sure if they will take a side load or not, but how about a power steering pump of a car? some are very compact and use a remote reservoir.

I'd like to see pics of your project.

Got the GT 14 off the lift today and took a test ride. I think the 8 speed will make this a real work horse with the 20 horse Vanguard I put on it last fall.I need to get the parking brake working and a hydraulic pump on it. I will post pic. soon Jake

You need a 2 spool valve with power beyond to do that setup. The power beyond port goes to you mower lift valve and you tie the returns all in together. The simplest way to do it would be to use a 3 spool valve, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
