WheelHorseSteve 56 #1 Posted January 23, 2013 Hello -- So I've been working on documenting the model # and serial #s off of all of my power equipment in an effort to make a nice whiteboard-based service chart. When I went to go pull the model #s and serial #s off of my Cs I was surprised to see such a huge difference: 1975 C-120 (previously a C-100) 8-Speed ----------------------------------------------------- Model # 1-0391 Serial # 147800 1976 C-160 Automatic ---------------------------- 61-16KS02-19716 6103 On the C-160, what is the model # and what is the serial #? These tractors are in many ways very similar but their model / serial ranges are remarkably different. Maybe this had something to do with AMC buying Wheel Horse in this timeframe? Please advise! Thanks! -Steve
meadowfield 2,570 #2 Posted January 23, 2013 the 61-16KS02 is the model number 6x =1976 16K= hp S= auto 02 = possibly 2 qtr of 1976 or rev of that year (Euro models are 91 or 92 here) 197166 is the serial number (I think) mark
rmaynard 15,407 #3 Posted January 23, 2013 For the most part, model numbers changed from the x-xxxx to the xx-xxxxxx system in 1976, several years after AMC bought Wheel Horse. The C-160 that you referenced is designated in the model number as 61-16KS02. 19716 is the serial number, and the 6103 is the Julian date that it was built.

ericj 1,578 #5 Posted January 23, 2013 the K stands for kohler o for onan never saw one with a T for a tecky but i'm sure that it should have been. then the s = sunstrand and E = eaton and 8 = 8speed so a 16KS = 16 HP Kohler s= sunstrand a 16OE would be 16 hp onan e eaton and so on and so on eric
