GlenPettit 1,716 #4 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Rubber Bumper, Rubber Boot, Tire Valve Stem Caps & Zerk Caps Rubber Bumper (70's, front base of hood-to-frame bumper, fits in 1/2" hole), WH part #5667 $1 each (uses two) Rubber Boot (70's, drivers seat plate - snaps on base of pin & spring), WH part #106331 $2 each (uses two) Zerk Caps, $1 per dozen or $6/100 (keeps dust & dirt off of the insertion ball in use), the loop and retainer keeps the cap from getting lost while lubing, (for the mower deck spindle Zerk fittings, cut off the retainer-loop for clearance, cap stays on snugly). (tractors need 3 – 4, plus deck needs 3) Red or Black Tire Valve Caps, mix-&-match, $1 per dozen or $6/100 (best to include these caps with other items ordered, very light, –– the Red color caps are much easier to see/find on the stem under our dark wheels). Tie-Rod Ball Joint BOOT (dust cover) A set of four black 80D Black Flex Rubber BOOTs, fits the standard Wheel Horse Tie-Rods (and many other Garden Tractors & vehicles): ID is slightly under 3/8", 1/2" tall, upper end is 5/8"OD, lower end is 7/16"OD, (and each of the two Tie Rods has one on each end, equals four). Keeps the grease in and on the ball, reduces dust & dirt from getting in. Only $3 for a set of four, or $1 each. Minimum First Class shipping is $3.50 for up to 3 ounces. We now have the larger GT 1/2"ID Boot available (3/4" tall, upper 3/4"OD, bottom 11/2"OD), these are $3 for a set of two. [03/28/17] To install: (1) Clean and grease the ball first, (2) cut a piece of thin plastic 1.5x1.5", (3) wrap this plastic around the bolt & nut & hold there, (4) wipe a little grease on the plastic, (5) slide the new Boot onto the plastic, large end first, all the way up to the rod, covering the ball, and above the hex-nut. (6) remove plastic. Edited February 2, 2018 by GlenPettit
