groundhog47 347 #1 Posted December 29, 2012 Awhile back asked if anyone had rebuilt a clutch. Well I am in progress sorta, got the clutchmaterial and rivets, but ones on a 520 type are bonded or glued if you will. An adhesive called Tuffbond 230 I believe is what some say to use. I've looked everywhere and can find no one that sell it. If anyone knows where to get it any help sent this way appreciated, My clutch awaiteth. Googling could discover no US supplier, so I guess you should look for a domestically available clutch and brake adhesive. People who do this work should be able to advise re a substitue. All the inquiry I made on net rendered no dealers just "stuff" My son, who comes up with some good advice suggested I check our local clutch and drive shaft repair for advice. The only other "stuff" I found requires a special cleaqner and oven cure, bet wife would love that. I did replace a starter ring on flywheel using the oven as expander, 'course she wasn't here, or I might not be either. I truly appreciate input and am lookin' forward to my first new unriveted clutch. Son came up with plan to cut out on end mill, we awaiteth that project. Mix it a little heavy on the hardener side and mix it aggressively to get the chemical action going, apply and put them together with a little weight on them and in 30min your done.
