rmaynard 15,609 #3 Posted December 26, 2012 (edited) Part #108501, 5/8" x 81.95" Edited December 26, 2012 by rmaynard
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #4 Posted December 26, 2012 I think you will find the 108501 is for the hydro models. The gear models use 7473 (HB/5Lx81.95") 5/8"x81.95" Manuals likely shared at Toro but what uses what not listed. wp205a 43 #6 Posted January 24, 2013 Model 416-8 73420 ser# 4900418. Toro says 93-9809 - BELT - V IN The belt that we get from the dealer is too short (had to cut it off at $45+- wasted). We put an 5/8 x 83" belt on it, the belt rolled over/twisted, might have been installed wrong. This can't be that hard on a 94 year model tractor. Going to try a 21/32 x 82.95, don't think the 82 will go on there. Will let you know, any advice will be appreciated.
TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #7 Posted January 24, 2013 The original belt number is 107939 According to the chart I use, it should be 83" long by 0.656" wide. Providing the tranz mounting plate on the end of the frame isn't broke, the guide at the tensioner pulley is not bent, and the guide(s) at the engine are adjusted correctly, there shouldn't be a problem. :confusion-shrug:
wp205a 43 #8 Posted January 24, 2013 Thanks, I wasn't present for the previous attempts, but will be this time. The owner of this one is the guy that gave me the 854 so I guess I owe him a favor. Sometimes I wonder though .
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #9 Posted January 25, 2013 This thread is about the 416-8 models. The first one 31-16K803 is a single cylinder engine using 7473 HB/5Lx81.95" belt. The 1996 and up singles used 93-9808 HBx82" belt. The 2nd one 73420 is a twin cylinder model using 107939 replaced by 93-9809 HBx83.5". Looks like all the twins B&S, Kohler and Onan used this one on the 8-speed's. Garry
wp205a 43 #10 Posted January 25, 2013 Thanks again Garry, when I put in the 107939, it does convert to 93-9809, then when I click on it, says 93-9809 replaces...something else. We'll figure it out, and sorry for the misplaced post.
