copperhead 38 #76 Posted December 30, 2012 Just got in from plowing..right in the middle of the storm here on the CT coast. I picked up a 75 C-100 this fall and got to break it in tonight.. Wet and heavy snow coming down a a good clip the whole time. Looks like about 8 inches as of about 8 pm and probably almost half of that fell while I was plowing. Whatever else falls will have to wait till tomorrow. Nobody else to take pictures so this is all ya get.. Didn't look too bad out of the gate.. Now it looks bad... Running out of room already.. Had to dismount for this picture... Let it snow, let it snow, let it....OK enough already...

Cutlas3391 776 #78 Posted December 30, 2012 Thanks for all the pictures and keep them coming i guess posting this topic was a success!! Maybe i should continue the topic or post a new topic which Wheel Horse can snow blow the highest snow pile and which Wheel Horse can snowplow the highest snow pile? lol
JackC 617 #79 Posted December 30, 2012 "which Wheel Horse can snow blow the highest snow pile and which Wheel Horse can snowplow the highest snow pile? lol" Blow highest pile? A 520H with a two stage blower. Plow highest pile? A D series with plow. JMHO I have both and still don't use them for snow removal, go figure. Maybe some day just for the fun of it. Great pictures. Looks like everyone is having a good time besides. The Wheel Horse.Gods are smiling on you.
3609horse 27 #80 Posted December 30, 2012 Here is one of my plow tractors. It's a C161 with a different hood. I have the ATV tires on it and I love how it goes with these tires. It still could use a little weight but they way it sits works pretty good. I have over 300ft of sidewalk to clear and it works great, the first time I used it was wet heavy snow it didn't miss a beat and the next morning I had to clear both my driveways after the town went by with bucket loaders and it moved the frozen stuff without much effort. More snow on the way can't wait. Gene..

Sparky-(Admin) 21,085 #82 Posted December 30, 2012 We ended up with 10"-12"s by the time it was over.....nice and fluffy! My GT was a bit overwelmed by the amount of snow. She coulda done it with half passes but I decided to give my old Gilson walk behind a workout since it only was used once last year. The Gilson (8hp Briggs / 26" cut) handled it with ease. Its nice to have a big old all steel heavy-duty snowblower. My dad has one of those newer Ariens and its so light that it wont dig in....it actually starts to ride up over the snow. Wheelhorse84 87 #83 Posted December 30, 2012 Mike how did those tires do with out chains? I tried with AG's without chains and got nowhere. As soon as I put the chains on it there was a huge improvement.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,085 #84 Posted December 30, 2012 The tires did great with out chains. Ag's are known to be lousy in the snow so I'm not surprised they sucked, I ran them one year and was very dissapointed. Mike.........

squonk 40,743 #89 Posted December 30, 2012 Where did the armrest seat on your C come from Mike? I got it at TSC about 5 years ago. Best seat I have ever used. Never see them in the stores anymore. The Surplus Center has them. http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=1-3206&catname=

kicked by a horse 22 #92 Posted December 30, 2012 I have been loving all the seat time the past few days. This is my first winter with the horse and I can't say how impressed I am with it. The plow has been more then capable with several feet of old snow on my dirt driveway. Makes me wonder if I even need to bother fixing up the snowblower. Not sure how much higher ill be able to push up the piles though!
slufoot733 70 #93 Posted December 30, 2012 KC9KAS, You are correct. It will not go in the snow like my WH. But come summer it goes all the time.
Wishin4a416 2,190 #94 Posted December 30, 2012 That looks like a healthy machine Kicked by a Horse. A co worker had a d-160 but he sold it when he moved into the suburbs with less ground. He worked the heck out of it.
Wishin4a416 2,190 #95 Posted December 30, 2012 Porkchop is a fan for life I can tell. He is a very Lucky young man. My Dad made me use a shovel at that age. I would have loved to have a machine like that. Ofcourse, thats when we used to get .50 cents [a real half dollar coin] when we shoveled for the neighbors. Time does fly. 3609horse 27 #96 Posted December 30, 2012 Got to play today, we got about 5" of fluffy snow. Started using my black hood with a 14hp and a 48" blade. It was doing great until the right rear tire bead popped off. Switched over to the C160 with a blower and it ate up the stuff the town left. Then took out my C161 with a 42" blade to clean up everything. Couldn't let my comando 800 sit so I took it out and tried the plow. It needs weight and chains but its fun to play with. Hope everyone had fun playing in the snow, I know I did. Gene..
roscoemi 245 #97 Posted December 30, 2012 Duke, your camera operator rocks! Nice pics. 855ownerJoel, it fits pretty good but he needs longer legs! It's a strech for him right now, but you can't get him off it with dynamite! Kicked by a horse, love that horse. Wishin4a416, 'Chop is a devoted fan! I'm willing to bet he will keep his Ranger for life.
