Kelly 1,029 #1 Posted December 16, 2012 Ok I'm buying up a few parts to get started back on my twin cyl. diesel project, I'm using the stock rear mounted tank on the C-195, so I know I need a lift pump for the engine it would have had a engine mounted tank and I belive it has a small pump on the engine to feed the injectors, I know I need a low press pump, but I want to keep cost down and don't want to buy a reg if I can help it, and space for everything is going to be tight, I'm thinking about 3psi, but I found a pump that is 3-5 psi, @30 gph, do you think that will be to big?? I will have a return line set up.

whc160 74 #3 Posted December 16, 2012 At work we have units on the semi trucks call TriPac's. They use a two cylinder Yanmar diesel to charge the batteries, heat the block, & run an A/C system so the truck engine does not have to idle at night. They have a elec supply pump that pulls fuel out of one of the trucks fuel tanks. I get replacement pumps at NAPA. They have two different ones. Can't remember the GPM on them or the part number. I will look tomorrow at work & let you know. Be sure to put a filter between it & the tank.
Kelly 1,029 #4 Posted December 16, 2012 Thanks, I think I'm more consered with press. I figure the GPH is plenty @30, it does have a pump mounted to the engine to feed the inj. and the return lines come off each inj. I plan on two filters one before the pump and one at the engine, just to be safe.
Jim_M 178 #5 Posted December 16, 2012 The psi of the delivery pump is not nearly as important as the gpm's. The pump you mentioned will be fine.
Kelly 1,029 #6 Posted December 16, 2012 jim you said GPM, this is rated at GPH, I know it does not need 30GPM, so I"m guessing a miss typed "M" ?
Jim_M 178 #7 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Yes Kelly, I mistyped. The pump will work just fine. Edited December 17, 2012 by Jim_M
