new to wheel horse tractors need info

My friend Rick fendley in whitevale ontario canada has just acquired a WHEEL HORSE TRACTOR age is around the 1963--1968 era , he has been told by person who gave it too him.

I have joined this forum on his behalf to find out information so he can rebuild it. We are not sure exactly what model he has . Somehow the model number of 10141 does not turn up on the web.

Got this off the plate------

serial number-----166928

model 10141

transmission has tag says B-80 4 speed

motor is a 1 cylinder

Question.........i feel that in order to be able to purchase manuals and order parts for him , i need to have the correct model designation........ like b-81 ? or c-100 ? or ???

Can somebody direct me too the correct answers and where i should go to acquire parts and manuals.

1st Welcome and by the model # 1-0141 it is a 1975 B-80 4-speed.

Engine should be a Kohler K181s spec#30629D

lets us know what ay need in the wanted..classified section and I'm sure someone will have what you need.

As far as parts and manuals

Check the manuals tab at the top ^^ there you will find the parts manual as well as the owners manual for that tractor. For parts, check the links section or place a wanted ad right here on the forum. I am certain everything you / he needs for the tractor is right here on :rs:

went to the manuals and printed out a couple of them that were for ricks tractor..model 1-0141 and model B-80 4 speed.

Placed a wanted ad for a repair manual either original or a copy of.

The rear end axles, the keys are toast and the key opening in the actual axle is opened way to much with wear, so if replacement axles cannot be found then new key ways will have to be cut on the axles opposite the old ones.

Also will need the long headlight assembly , as this one is missing it. Other than that it seems in decent shape.

B-80's did not come with head lights just a block out plate. They may have been added as an option by the dealer. You can post that you need the axles in the Classified Section. You will probably need hubs too if the axles are that bad.

thank you on the plate info, will tell rick his tractor did not come with lights. The hubs actually are fine, the axles are rough in the key way area......he is going to see if he can get a machine shop to cut new openings and get new key way keys for it.

Actually tried to post a wanted for B-80 4 speed axles 3 times and sytem kept spitting it back at me so gave up trying to post in the wanted section. I emailed admin and got zip in help.

I can't explain why your ad isn't being accepted. I would try starting a thread in "site suggestions, updates, issues", you're more likely to get a response there.

I would have to try to post a wanted advert again and see exactly what the offensive wording was and write it down that would not allow me to post ad.

Have sent the axles out to have new keyways cut on opposite side of axles.
