varosd 1,185 #1 Posted December 1, 2012 Trolling on CL, I happened to come across a single stage ST that looks like it has attached black wide deck/anti scalp mowing deck rollers they are attached on blade itself on either side of the pivot. location: Bridgewater,NJ was this an option? not talking about the early ST's that had metal rollers before they had metal skids or the doughnut looking glides. :confusion-shrug:
squonk 41,013 #2 Posted December 1, 2012 Don't think it was an option. I put lawn mower wheels on an old walk bee-hind snowthrower years ago to use on a gravel drive way. I put some wheels on my tall-shoot single last year. Never got any snow to try it out. It does make it easier to move around though!
Fun Engineer 859 #3 Posted December 3, 2012 Mike I'd like to know how the large wheels work for you this winter. Sorry to highjack your post Don. Never saw the anti-scalp wheels used. I bought a snowthrower once that had 4 x3/4 wheels made out of aluminum. Took them off and installed the OEM wheels (thanks to Kelly). Still have them somewhere.
