Quick attach question..

Recommended Posts

Changed a rear quick attach from one machine to another today...I got everything snugged up...but was worried about the possibility of cracking the transmission case when tighting the unit down...Are there certain torque specs for the bolts on these things?....Thanks

You'll snap the bolt before you crack the tranny.

I was just un-mangling a axel hitch today.

Their made of soft steel. They'll bend long before the axel housing.

Crank away!

Recommended torque for a dry grade five 3/8 -16 fastener is listed at 30-35 ft lb.

It would be a good idea to use new nylock nuts too.

Or you can use the method my Dad taught me. Yank on it 'til you feel the bolt snap, then back off 1/4 turn :laughing-rofl:

Or as my Grandpa told me, tight is tight..... go figure, he also used to tell me that: "the worst thing that it could do was kill you".
