copperhead 38 #1 Posted November 25, 2012 Changed a rear quick attach from one machine to another today...I got everything snugged up...but was worried about the possibility of cracking the transmission case when tighting the unit down...Are there certain torque specs for the bolts on these things?....Thanks

Rock farmer 41 #4 Posted November 25, 2012 I was just un-mangling a axel hitch today. Their made of soft steel. They'll bend long before the axel housing. Crank away! Joe
Alan_Heist 7 #5 Posted November 26, 2012 Use the German torque setting built into your arm.... Gootentite! :)
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #6 Posted November 26, 2012 Recommended torque for a dry grade five 3/8 -16 fastener is listed at 30-35 ft lb. It would be a good idea to use new nylock nuts too.

Wyattrrp 59 #8 Posted November 26, 2012 Or you can use the method my Dad taught me. Yank on it 'til you feel the bolt snap, then back off 1/4 turn :laughing-rofl:
