DCL = Direction Control Lever.

Its definitly a Sundstrand hydro. I thought the older ones used ATF. Whats on the dipstick now when you check it? Does it have a redish color? That would be ATF. Probably best to stick with whats in it. Make sure you get a gunuine filter from a Toro dealer.

Sounds like the cam plate may be out of position or broken. If the frame was broke in the rear I could see how this could have happened.

i talked to kelly tonight on the phone. hes sayiing that cam plate also im going to tear into it. thing is it was a ride to town and back the frame is still busted my dad wasnt home to use his welder. so it went on trailer fine came off messed up. like i was telling him i had the trailer hooked to my golf cart with brakes set on cart had tractor hooked to trailer and it dragged trailer and cart backwards so not seeing a hydro pump issue. gotta be something simple. like that reverse spring. ill look at it......

I talked to him on the phone last night and I can say the trans/pump is good, he told me pulling forwards it pulled a trailer hooked to a golf cart that the brakes were set on, sounds like a good unit to me, I told him to look at the plastic cam plate but I'm leaning to the pressure spring for reverse, may have broke, but this is over the phone a couple hundred miles away, I'm 99% sure this tractor had motor oil in it for fluid, and right now the fluid is not the problem, it is something mechanical.

And the two cracks at the mounting plate like 90% of the tractors out there I'm sure have nothing to do with it.

It may just be the set screw for the eceentric that rides in the cam plate came loose or has worn a grove so that it is moving around just enough to mess up reverse. I had this happen to a tractor that I sold to a friend at work. I actually wound up making a new eccentric pin(no longer available) and replacing the cam plate with a new one.

Why a genuine Toro filter? Why not a Purolator, Wix or another brand filter?

Just asking.

Thanks!

Bill

When I talk to you you say your always moving dirt, these are not bulldozers, the frame will break, if you use them ruff, I went out back and took a peek under the tractor I got from you, not only did you break the trans, but the frame is broke in 3 places, not just the mounting plate, if you broke the frame on the C-141 bad enough yes it could cause the problem your having, and a ride on a trailer hitting bumps going down the road may have made it worse, when you weld it up be sure you line things back up not just weld it as it is.

really I knew tranny was busted i wish i tore that apart just to see it.....but frame busted also hmmmmm... I have to admit it has a blade on it. If i think it will push it or attempt to push it its going to do it one way or another. i dont buy these to look at them i buy to use them.....i have a john deere 210 that is a pulling sob i moved a shed with that.....

Pulling is ALOT different than pushing

When your pushing with the blade, it is trying to push the trans backwards, because the blade mounts to it, if you ram a pile of something that is heavy or froze, it will break the frame at the trans mount, that is why many that have had blades on them the bottom holes are cracked, if the person keeps pushing heavy objects it will break even more, I had a C-160 hydro here that the frame was so bad you could barely move the DCL, the tractor would only go forwards some, you might look closer at the frame where the trans bolts up.

i had to shim the ball part that slides in the cam plate because it would twist on hills and then slip out of the cam plate
