Jake Kuhn 1,555 #1 Posted November 16, 2012 Hi guys, Just brought home a couple of oddball tractors. First is a burns. I do not know much about this tractor, I'm thinking it was made in the early 60's and there is a tag on it that says it was made in georgia. The other tractor is a jacobsen javelin 26. This is a very neat tractor and it has a clinton b1290 in it. Here are some pictures. ~Jake

squonk 41,118 #9 Posted November 17, 2012 Wow looked like a Tecky, but then again I try not to get too close to them!! :)
Jake Kuhn 1,555 #10 Posted November 17, 2012 The clinton is not going to be for sale, sorry. Its the same as what the 58's used on them and if we don't keep the tractor together which we probably will, its going to go on one of them. got the burns to run tonight. needs the carb rebuilt and the trans is a little noisy, but other than that its a really nice tractor. ~Jake
Coadster32 793 #11 Posted November 17, 2012 They look pretty cool. Depends on the owner but they could be called madball instead of oddball. :hide:

squonk 41,118 #15 Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) Hey Jake, You should paint "Lil Jake" on the Jake. Take off the deck . Then fire it up and hold the governor open. I'd bet that thing would fly!! Edited November 17, 2012 by squonk

prondzy 3,881 #18 Posted January 22, 2013 great find! the green one looks a lot like a GILSON just seen one posted on CL in my neck of the woods.
SPINJIM 1,981 #19 Posted June 29, 2013 I agree that the green one is a Gilson. I saw one just like it yesterday, repainted yellow. The old ones were built like tanks, and I don't know why they're not more collectible. Jim
Jake Kuhn 1,555 #20 Posted June 29, 2013 Burns were built by gilson I believe. I have seen two or three others badged as burns. Mine has the original serial tag and if you look the decals have been painted over but say burns.
ptmechpa 1 #21 Posted June 30, 2013 Hey Jake; That Jacobsen looks like a Hovearound But yours has 4 wheels Both tractors going to be your summer projects? I would paint one Blueberry Keep up the good work and have fun Dale
groundhog47 347 #22 Posted June 30, 2013 VERY INTERESTING projects, like the front axle on green one, the other one would make an excellent runabout, hesitated toooo looong on one couple of weeks back at scrap yard and it got eaten by metal munching monster. Learned another lesson. My first thought was green one was a Sears Suburban, which are usually blue and white, but guessed wrong, huh!
