Are the threads stripped or the wrench whole wollered out? If the wrench hole and an easy out/extractor won't work, think of brazin' or tack weld a wrench to plug, but just a light tack or braze. Am sure that fluid won't tolerate much heat and don't know about inards. If it sticks out enough to cut a cross slot go that route with a big blade and wrench (had to take off lug nuts like that once), may have to use sumptin' like a dremel 'cause prob not very much room. If threads, plug or case. If plug replace with equal.

If all fails don't give up. Good luck

Maybe tack weld a 5/16ths or 3/8ths nut to it and then back it out with a wrench.

Wheel-N-It

I had this problem with a wheel horse once. Weld a bolt (not a nut) to the plug. then back it out with a wrench. Replace the steel plug with a brass one. you may occasionally have a little drip of fluid under the brass plug as for some reason they don't seal quite as well as steel but next year when you go to change your fluid the brass plug will easily come out.

I got lucky and tapped a wide blade screwdriver in one and used a wrench on the shaft...it had six sides so a wrench fit the shaft.

I'd probably stay away from an ez-out at this stage.

The main issue with these is that the hex gets full of dirt and crud, then someone puts the allen wrench in only half way and strips out the hex. People need to clean out all the crap first so the wrench will go all the way in.

I have read somewhere that someone managed to beat a Torx bit into the hex, and it gripped enough to get the plug out.

Persnally I think I would try to beat an allen wrench in there as far as i could, and then weld the allen wrench to the plug.

Good Luck!!

If you weld something to the plug give it time to cool before trying to remove it.

As a last resort you can drill it out and retap the hole. Before that you could drill a smaller hole in the center and try an ez-out but the big problem is the shavings getting into the oil.

Another trick is using a hammer and a punch. First try putting the allen wrench in and use a hammer and punch to stake the metal back around the wrench. If that fails use the hammer and punch to drive the plug in a counter clockwise direction I have used this method with limited success on broken taps.

If the whole is deep enough and have an adequate sized one it might work, the members sayin' weld a nut or bolt is a great also!
