Wheel Crazy

What is it and what is it worth?

Recommended Posts

Wheel Crazy

I recently found an old round hood on Craiglist. Looks like to be either a Suburban or Rj that does not have the original engine and has a hole in the hood. Any ideas on to what model it is and maybe the year? What is it worth? Thanks!

RJ58 or 59 they both look the same the only way to tell them apart is if it still has the tag. I would probably go $300 on it the hood looks good besides the hole and that would be an easy repair.

I had a little brain fart for a second....the hole in the hood does not need to be repaired since it should have a fuel tank neck coming up through it.

Engine is not original but the originals are easy to find.

not the correct engine and the hole in the hood is for the gas cap, there should be 2 straps spot welded underneath to hold the gastank.

Yep, that is a rj 59 or 9. Its missing the gas tank. It should have a kohler k91 or a clinton 1290 in it. I would say 250 or maybe 300. ~Jake

I often wonder what the "worth" is, why?

The worth is what you think it is. My Horses, hobby, friends. No dollar sign on 'em.

The Herd is family.

Well, I called him and he said he has another one with an original clinton that might be a 1956? He want $350 each and is firm on the price. What is the all original one worth? Thanks!

The one with the orig. if it is in good shape is worth the money before this one.

He said the motors were off the tractors and he just put them on there to sell. So the clinton might belong to the one pictured or the one not pictured? Idk?

I might go look at them. How do you identify them?

I went and looked at them and he will only take $350 each. The one that wasn't pictured was another Rj58 or 59 that was in better shape, but did not have the original motor. The motor was a Clinton 4 cycle engine that was green. He also had a three wheel mower that was green, red, and white that he aslo wanted $350 for. So I am probably going to pass.

I know we all like to get things as cheap as possible but I sold an RJ59 this summer with a crappy hood, non original Kohler and wheel barrow front tires and got $275 for it.
