I guess the question is what should I sell it for, or what should I pay for it?

As shown in the picture, I would say it's worth no more than about $150.00.

But that is only my opinion.

I'm looking to buy it. From the limited info I have read, this will run a tiller, snowblower, etc? Anywhere I can get some info on it?

Assuming that it has all of the necessary PTO parts, hitches, etc, you should be able to run a snow thrower. A tiller requires other accessories that may not be available cheaply. Looks like you are missing the footrests, and some engine covers too. Make sure that all covers and parts are there or you may have a difficult time just getting the tractor up to snuff.

By the looks of it someone has been working on that engine, if it don't run it aint worth much. If it were me I would scrap the briggs and put in a Kohler :handgestures-thumbupright:

So, do I give it a go? Guy is asking 150? What do I need to be armed with to negotiate.

You have the tractors condition as a tool to negotiate a better price. In the shape its in with the engine partially apart, its rusty appearance and some missing parts. The pic is kinda dark and blurry so its hard to get a real good read on its shape. I wouldn't spend much time or money trying to get that motor going. In my opinion if you don't have much experience working on these it would be best to close your eyes and walk away from this one if you can't get it for 75 bucks. JMHO.

I have to agree. All too often people want stupid money for tractors in awful shape, and those of US who've paid it are part of the reason these prices keep going up. I'm not saying he's asking stupid money on this particular tractor, but he is asking more than most would pay for that model in that shape.

There are thousands of Wheel Horses still out there. You may not find one for that same price in better shape, but whatever you do pay for a better one will be worth it.

I'd go with Ken's suggestion and offer him $75 for it. You may get surprised.

There are a lot of parts missing in the picture, side cover , foot rest, engine cover, light cover, and that's just the side we can see, check the other side . You want a complete tractor, if it's not all there it isn't worth $75, you'll spend a lot more than that getting the missing parts. I would ask about the missing parts, if he doesn't have them offer less then $75.

I bought one like that a GT1100 not long ago complete, paint in above average cond. tires not so good came with a so so 36" deck I paid $50 not hearing it run, I had it running fair in about 15 min. after getting it home, I sold it for $125 with that being said, I'd go no more than $75, as I have said before I pay $75 for about any tractor that is 99% complete not running, more if it has attachments that are usable.

Make a $50 offer, if, IF you're prepared to spend more and a lot of work in the future.

Check Craig's List, you might find something running.

I just paid thru the nose, $200, for a running Commando 800. No deck, 42" complete, in good shape plow.

The Commando is going on sale this week.

I would not wast my time and money with it. Be patient and keep looking for a stronger tractor that needs less work.

You can buy a lot of tractor with attachments for around $400 that is ready to work.

Well, I found what I wanted. Went to go pick it up, and got called into work Sunday. It's a four hour round trip to it, so I'm going on my next day off, which is next Monday. Pictures will follow

I wouldn't bother. Looks like your going to get into a money pit. Finding a decent mower deck , snowplow, snow thrower etc. It could run another $400-$500. I agree with Jack C. If you look around you may be able to find a decent running tractor with attachments.
