stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #5 Posted October 2, 2012 Charlie, Sorry I am ignorant to what it takes to become an eagle scout..... Congrats tho! Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). A Scout who attains this rank is called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle." Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit through the Boy Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Eagle Scouts are presented with a medal and a badge that visibly recognizes the accomplishments of the Scout. Additional recognition can be earned through Eagle Palms, awarded for completing additional tenure, leadership, and merit badge requirements. Now I am not ! Congrats for sure !! Got to love goggle
clintonnut 126 #6 Posted October 2, 2012 Well Steve, you have to complete ranks of: Tenderfoot Second Class First Class Star Life Then, on top of that, complete these requirements. I'm too lazy to type so here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Scout_(Boy_Scouts_of_America)

stevasaurus 22,683 #9 Posted October 2, 2012 Charlie, we talked about this at the show. As an Eagle scout myself, I welcome you to the ranks that not many get to...and it is even harder to do when you are 17 (I was 17). I am very proud and glad for you Sir. The above Google is true, it stays with you the rest of your life...and every once in a while, you will get tears in your eyes when you get to meet people like you that have walked in your shoes. Congratulations my friend.
bk-scouter 93 #10 Posted October 2, 2012 Anytime somebody earns his Eagle gets high marks in my book! Congratulations Charlie. In regards to taking school off tomorrow, you better recall the brand new 13th point of the Scout Law: A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent and NEVERS SKIPS SCHOOL... OK, I added that 13th point, but you get the idea.... -BK
