johnscag 7 #1 Posted September 30, 2012 I picked up a Lawn Ranger today, must say i know nothing about the model, but it sure is small!! LOL... Good for garage space i guess!!! Runs 1/2 way decent, little rusty but not to bad, new battery and new rear tires. The electric start is a button though, is this normal? Model 1-2631 Sorry for the bad pics, picked it up after dark and it was raining.
Jake Kuhn 1,554 #2 Posted September 30, 2012 Very nice little tractor. It should just have a key switch and no buttons. How about some pics of the dash? ~Jake

Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #6 Posted October 1, 2012 By the looks of the decals and the model # it looks to be the model year 1968.( I believe)
littleredrider 409 #7 Posted October 1, 2012 yeah look like a 68. I had a 67 which is pretty much that same thing. It should have a key to start not a button. I liked mine, motor was tired, then swapped it for a K181. Governor was messed up so wouldn't rev high enough to mow, but with a plow that thing was a mini tank!!!! Even had the same Ags as yours. Great little machines....yours looks good too!!

Jake Kuhn 1,554 #9 Posted October 2, 2012 That looks to be how it should be. Thats just a key switch and I'm not seeing a starter button, unless it is somewhere else? Jake
johnscag 7 #10 Posted October 2, 2012 That looks to be how it should be. Thats just a key switch and I'm not seeing a starter button, unless it is somewhere else? Jake yes, it is on the left, on top the starter solenoid? right on top in the middle.
305 380 #11 Posted October 2, 2012 that solenoid/switch was added , probably because of a bad ignition switch or just to take the load off it. on my lawn ranger i still use the original keyed switch to start , but have added a solenoid under the hood. got it from primeline. as you know the heavy battery cables go through the stock ignition switch , but now mine attach to the solenoid and the switch just activates it
