RickF 8 #1 Posted September 6, 2012 Hello, I'm trying to mount a mower deck under a '69 GT14, but see that I'm missing the link or rod or fork, (the part) that connects the hydraulic lift under the machine, to the mower deck lift carriage. I do not know what this link looks like. I cannot find a diagram of the part. although I can find a part called a lift rod, and a part number from parts tree, but still there is no illustration of the part that I can make sure I'm buying the right thing. Can anyone tell me what that linkage looks like? maybe shape, length, I think length may be critical because I will determine how high the deck will lift. I'm thinking maybe I can fabricate a link with a couple of pieces of steel, some bolts and some nuts. Anybody's help and response is truly appreciated. meadowfield 2,570 #2 Posted September 6, 2012 look up the parts manual 1-7451 for the GT14. I think there is the picture of additional parts needed to do the deck lift. THe bar you are talking about is the same shape/length as used on a C series, but does not mount through the frame - it just bolts on. mark Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Don1977 604 #3 Posted September 6, 2012 I would use a chain. The later model C-series had a threaded trunnion with an eye bolt for adjustment of the chain. JimSraj 429 #6 Posted June 10, 2021 I realize this post is nearly 10 yrs. old but I’m gonna give it a go anyway. I recently got a 1969 GT14 (1-7441) as well as the mower deck for it. The deck is not on the tractor and I think there are some parts missing in the lift arrangement. No lift rod and looks like only One side of the front mounting bracket is on the Tractor. No latching mechanism either. Any help with what this should be will be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics of what is on the Tractor. As you can see only One side has the front bracket that accepts the deck and I don’t see how it would stay in place. Is something missing? Dave Oman was good enough to furnish blowup of the deck.
