1075 dash HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

MR49

I just got my first wheel horse a few days ago, and in the process of gettin it running I believe ive found a huge fault. Im almost positive the dash is off of a b 80 or somthing like that. Let me know what you think.

Now im having trouble with the throttle, Its just going wide open with the slightest touch. Im not sure if the pull throttle style which i belief is sopost to be on this thing dosnt move as much or is more precise or not but im getting the hunch.

Can some one point me in the right direction or maybe would like to trade dashes?

Thanks

if youre not worried about it being original, you can make that dash work. the cable setup is actually a better system.

if it were me, i would leave it there.

i think you have other problems with the throttle linkage, either parts missing, the wrong parts or whats there not working...

first of all you need to show us what the linkage looks like on the engine from where the cable attaches to it and all the way to the carb,

i will see if i can find something pic wise to post. i think the 1075 has the normal big block (k241 and up) linkage

i know ive got a pic somewhere with the cable attached as well, but for now this should be how the linkage is set up to the carb. i think the 1075 would have the same setup even though the engine is slightly different with the shorter sump. your carb arm might differ from this one too, but the general idea is the same....

you need to make sure that the linkage is set in the correct holes and the spring is correct too.

the governor might be out of adjustment too, but lets take one thing at a time...

heres the cable routing and hook up, and make sure the linkage is setup in the holes in the arms like this.....

Ok so I took the bar that conects the cable to the linkages and put it on the front. it was on the back side. Than I moved the right side of the spring down to the next hole because it was on the top hole. THAN I some how lost one of the clips for the bar piece. Any idea where I can get some of those clips?

Heres what I have. Moving those 2 things seemed to help a lot.

Well I tried to upload some images but it says there to big? Let me see how to compress them and ill get back to ya.

The linkages and everything else are the same as what you have posted though.

well the top of the carb linkage seems to be a bit different.

Your right, that dash is not correct the 1075 has the throttle that pulls out and twists to lock, no head light switch, a light that is lit when the engine is running. a lighter, and a pull choke. If you look at the decal kits on vinylguys website you can see what I am talking about. http://www.redoyourh...5-decals/Detail

Anyone have a 1075 dash by any chance? I really want to go original on the restoration.
