grnlark 487 #1 Posted September 3, 2012 As much as I love my RJ's, I do have a passion for Bantams too. My model 8000 (the largest of the Bantams is still in total resto). In fact I think it might have finally gotten painted this week - but thats a whole other story. This weekend my model 3000 and 5000 finally arrived from Missouri. Now I have one of each model. The plan is to do a complete resto on all three so I can line them up as small, medium and large

grnlark 487 #5 Posted September 3, 2012 nice tractors. did you ever get all your parts straighten around from the guy in MI ? I only ended up with about half of the parts but the post office did reimburse for almost the entire value. Monetarily it was fine, but I rather would have gotten all the parts. I did end up finding everything I needed though after that.

grnlark 487 #10 Posted September 4, 2012 Will there be a Bantam showing at Kent at the end of the month? Yeah, the plan (weather permitting) is to take a Bantam and an RJ. My son and I were driving the 3000 around this afternoon but I'd like to get the 5000 ready for Kent. The 3000 has an unoriginal Briggs on it with a cintifugal clutch. Naturally, my initial thought was to rip that out and throw it in the barrel. In fact I already have the repro clutch, shifter and gas tank for it. But I realized today that maybe I'll leave it alone for now because the cintrifugal clutch setup is perfect for my son. He had a blast. It will need a new cintrifugal clutch for sure, but they're dirt cheap.

grnlark 487 #15 Posted September 28, 2012 I've spent the past few weeks getting everything in working order on the 5000 including new shoes. And I thought it needed some WH influence, so it has a modified RJ seat spring now too.
