Tankman 3,518 #1 Posted September 1, 2012 Grandson arrived yesterday, 1st stop was the barn ground level. He had to check on the Horses'. Disappointed 'cause he doesn't drive.........yet. Today, he gets the chore list. Which I don't understand, he'll love. Grandson's Weekend Chores 1) Blow and/or vacuum all grass clippings off the Horses' frames and tractor decks; 2) Wash the Horses; 3) Dry the Horseys'; 4) Scrub brush the front and rear Horseys' tires; 5) Check the Horses' tire air pressures (adjust as required); 6) Clean the Horses' tail and head lights (be sure we have spare bulbs); 7) Go to Tractor Supply and look, "We might need one of these Pop-pop!" 8) With Pop-pop check the Wheel Horses' oil and gas; 9) Remove and clean the Wheel Horses' Kohler air cleaners. The list goes on, the grandson says, "Wheel Horses' need to be in ready! Pop-pop, the grass needs cuttin' again." And who says todays generation is lazy? Annual maintenance is weekly with this kid! **Note** At Tractor Supply he picked up an implement and accessory catalog, to read.

Tankman 3,518 #7 Posted September 2, 2012 Added to the Chore List. A quick trip to the junque yard. Hundreds of riding mowers and garden tractors. For a five spot, a rather nice high back padded Simplicity seat. Once home, we took out the heat gun, bye-bye Simplicity. Repainted the steel back 'n bottom, gloss black RustOleum enamel. On the back, now reads, Wheel Horse. Saved the old WH seat, serviceable. Had the two springs but, sorry perfectionists, had to add four holds to the fender assembly. Added image to my Gallery. Still no signs of the grandson runnin' out of steam. What'll it take?

Tankman 3,518 #10 Posted September 3, 2012 Hey Tankman, I'm from the lower end of the county,Where is this junk yard up near you? I could use a place to get used parts closer to home. Thanks That would be in Sellersville, PA (or Rockhill). 'Bout 12 miles west of Doylestown. 313 North (or west), Rt. 563 South (or west), Old Bethlehem Pike north, 1st left on Mill to Wilcox (junk yard). Saturday 8 am till noon. Take your own tools. I'm about three blocks from the yard, livin' in my barn (renovated). Seldom a Wheel Horse but, all the rest live in the yard. Lots to choose from.

That's what the Army'll do to ya! Myself an old Jarhead....I think? Or was that an infantry squid (USN). Nah, memory stirring. Memories of Camp Lejeune, 2nd Infantry, 8th Marines.
