Motor looks to be a 10 or 12 hp Kohler and the tractors a late 60's model.

Sorry but I cant narrow it down. Someone here will get it I'm sure.

I'm gonna guess a 1966-1056 or a 1967-1057 or 1267..either way looks to be a descent machine..loook up under the dash and see if there is still an I.D Tag.

I believe it is a 1966, by the decal on the hood. In 1967 the decals had a border. However, all the decals I have seen on 1966 models were at the back of the hood. ?

Hard to say........looks to be a custom decal. Pictures are a little hazy.......but my guess is those aren't original decals for any year. I agree with Mike.......66 or 67.

Now that you say that....I went and looked at some pics again and my tractors.

The 66 model 4 speeds , or I guess then they were 3 speeds? 656,856,1056 They had the words "Wheel Horse" in that sort of script Font but was a thin white double line with red in the center. They had the model # on the belt guard.

The few 1967 models I have seen pics of only, but they had the same white font, only no red center and they were part is a larger decal that had the model # towards the front.

The "auto drives" and 6 speeds had their own decals both years.

The placement of the "Wheel Horse" on this tractor looks about where the words would be on the larger 67 decal and the font looks the same.

Looks to me like whoever painted it before maybe left part of the decal on it? My 1946 they painted around the decals.

That would make me believe it could be a 1967.

Ditch digger, would it be possible to see a close up of the hood around the decal?

IF it's all orig. except the paint decals and seat, I'm going to say 1057, or 1257 it is only a 4 speed, no running boards, and it has the large 2 spoke steering wheel they only used on the long frame tractors in 1967, same wheel used on the 953 and 1054.

If you can get past the glare of the blindingly-white wheels B) , you can see the axle ends sticking out past the hubs. That's an indication of the long-axle #5058 3 speed Uni-Drive tranz used only in the 1057/1257 models. The 1056 used a "short axle" #5053 3 speed.

That, along with the previously-mentioned steering wheel, narrows it down substantially.

Thanks to everybody that responded this tractor was repainted and the plate under the dash and the plate on the motor are removed.I can see the rivet holes I just got it last week and I will start finishing it like replacing the seat and fix the charging problem. It is a three speed there is a slot hitch on the back the mower is 42" and sounds good.

My 66's have 2 spoke wheels...is there a smaller one and a larger one?

Yes in 67 they had a unique large 2 spoke wheel, hard to describe but the center has a extra lip that goes about 2/3rds of the way around it, kinda like a shroud, I don't have any to get pics of but some else might have a pic, the same wheel was used on the 953 and 1054, and I think the first GT14 but not sure on that, other brands of tractors used that wheel also, Arens, Ford, Jacobson, and I'm sure more, the other brands had the shaft hole to suit there tractors.

I don't know how to pull a pic out of a post but if you go here, you can see the large 1967 style wheel.

The plates are missing from the motor and from under the dash does anyone know if there is another place to find a number on the kohler motor to tell if it is a twelve or ten horsepower
