jcb857 161 #1 Posted August 30, 2012 I tore down my trans that was on my 401. Everything looked good for the most part. I made new gaskets for it and bought all new seals for it. I am looking for the oil seal that goes on the brake drum shaft. Parts tree and my manual say it is the same size as the input shaft but that is not correct. I was wondering if anyone has a source or part number that I could use to find one? Thanks
stevasaurus 22,869 #2 Posted August 30, 2012 Your (ball bearing) number should be #1519 with oil seal #1234. If this is what you show for numbers, it is possible that you may have one of the replacement transmissions for the #5010. Service note #1 says that they went from a ball bearing to a needle bearing on the brake shaft for strength reasons. The needle bearing is #1508 and the seal you may be looking for is #1303. Wheel Horse numbers...sorry...I do not have the conversion numbers, but TORO may still have the seals. Do you have the needle bearing on the brake shaft??? :)
