hcminis 1,573 #27 Posted August 26, 2012 <p>ok. Good to hear that I didn't start trouble. Belong to another board with toys and seems like that is all they do is argue.
hcminis 1,573 #28 Posted September 24, 2012 Got a carburetor from rydogg yesterday (thank you). Put it on really quick before church and was able to get the old 7 H.P. to fire twice. Was really excited to hear it actually fire. Came home and put gas in the tank and she started after several cranks. The old girl ran on it's own for about 5 minutes. Was able to do a loop around our paved circle drive way. Shifted in all gears really good. After the loop the tractor stalled and wouldn't start again. Checked everything...have really good spark, getting fuel fine, checked float to make sure it wasn't stuck. Called Marshall for some extra advice...still nothing. Would eventually fire once or twice but not run. Took the head off (didn't break any bolts and it came right off) to find the gasket has a couple nice holes. So, think the compression is compromised enough the engine won't start. SO, gotta find a head gasket somewhere. Any help would be greatful.
