Does anyone know how to lock a wheelhorse diff ?

The 8 pinion differential can be "locked" by changing the alternating pinions from this:

I don’t think its right but I have been known to be wrong before.

I was @ a pull 2 Weeks ago, talking with a guy pulling with a Raider 12.

He said it has a locking axel. I questioned how he locks the axel in, if he had a lever for that purpose.

I never heard of this before and was just curious. He went on to explain that when he pulls forward in

front of the sled he gets real strait to it and needs to be 20 or more feet out in front of the sled then he

backs up slow and strait. He said this strait line backing of 20 feet or more locks the rear.

Yes. ! :omg:

No. ? :confusion-confused:

Or somewhere in between. :eusa-think:

If he had a stock :wh: transaxle ~ no. Even if it wasn't stock, I can't see why you'd want some sort of locker that requires backing up 20 feet to engage. :scratchead:

TT.. from the pic you gave it looks like you mated two pinions up two pinions down ? if this is right this is a whole lot better than welding up a locker like i was goin to do. THANKS THANKS THANKS

That is correct - opposing pairs all flipped to one side.

i did this once by mistake on a 4 pinion rear,it didnt steer very well but climbed hills like a 4 wheeler
